She was born in a refugee camp in Indonesia. Her mother, who was pregnant with her, along with the rest of her family, fled Viet Nam in the midst of the diaspora of boat people. They were fortunate to be rescued by an Indonesian oil tanker, and eventually settled into a refugee camp, where Dr. Doan was born. She was delivered by the vice president of a maternity hospital, who happened to also be in the camp. She and her family soon after settled in the United States, in a suburb outside of Houston.
Dr. Doan graduated from Pearland High School at the top of her class. She went on to attend Rice University in Houston, TX, through the prestigious Rice-Baylor Medical Scholars Program, in which she was directly admitted into medical school at Baylor College of Medicine as a senior in high school. After completing her degrees, she chose t

She went on to attend Rice University in Houston, TX, through the prestigious Rice-Baylor Medical Scholars Program, in which she was directly admitted into medical school at Baylor College of Medicine as a senior in high school. After completing her degrees, she chose to stay at Baylor for her residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology, during which she was chosen as chief resident in her last year. After graduation, she settled into solo private practice in Katy, TX.
Dr. Doan has always had a keen interest in women's health. She strives to provide personalized and complete care for her patients through all phases of life, from adolescence through menopause. She herself has experienced infertility, pregnancy, and delivery complications, and she understands the struggles of work/life balance as a busy m

Dr. Doan lives in Katy with her husband and two miracle children. She spends her free time being a mom and traveling, usually to the mountains.
